Who We Help

The Molalla River Education Foundation once again awarded scholarships to two deserving Molalla High School students.  In past years, MREF has given nearly $21,000 to provide support for students to further their education.  This year's recipients were Tessa Shankle and Elizabeth Ragan.

Elizabeth Ragan was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from MREF.  She is very excited about enrolling at Oregon State University where she plans to take studies in cultural anthropology, business and French.  She will be taking her horse with her so she can ride and continue training him.

While at Molalla High School she was very active in FFA, varsity cross country and track and field.  She was a member of the Honor Society and finished high school with a 4.2 (weighted) GPA.

Her hobbies include horse training and cycling.

Tessa Shankle was the winner of the Donna Wendling Memorial Scholarship of $1,000.  She plans to enroll in Clackamas Community College and then transfer, after two years, to a 4-year college or university to complete her degree in accounting.

Elizabeth and Tessa  are outstanding examples of the students of the Molalla River School District.  They, and other students who receive financial help from the Molalla River Education Foundation are worthy of our support.  Please consider how your donation can help even more of Molalla's outstanding students.
